Ometepe, more family pictures, and kids with new books

Ometepe on the way back after my trip home. I have NEVER seen the lake this calm!!! And then a week later there were waves higher than the boats due to tropical storm Alma.

The family Sobalvarro, Selena (one of my students), Yuri, Jose Ramon, and Eliezar

The family Ochoa, Johanna, Carolina, Janet

(It's amazing how once you see a family together, you wonder how you could have not known before that they were related!!)

Kids reading NEW books in the school library during recess.

They were VERY excited. There are basically no chapter books left in the library because the kids checked them all out.

Hi Beth,

Very nice blog! I love those pictures.

I got your email reply. Did I tell you in email that I am doing internship at a Chinese church? Things are going very well, but I'll be glad when that's over with. Next year I will do an internship at a regular American church. I don't know where yet. I'll most likely be ordained after that, but being a pastor is really difficult.

I might be in SD around early part of January, but it sounds like you might not be back. I'll let you know if I am ever in the area. But I hope you enjoy the rest of the time in Nicarague, and stay cool!
